About the role
We are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Designer Engineer to lead on our project tasks, technical mentoring, tendering, quality, compliance and project management. As Senior Mechanical Design Engineering you will play a key role in ensuring design tasks meet the time, cost and quality requirements of projects. This may include but not be limited to the below:
- Design briefs & hand sketches
- 3D scheme and detail models
- Scheme stress & functional calculations
- Scheme design risk assessments
- Directive compliance assessments
- Scheme and detail design review
- 2D part, fabrication and assembly drawings
Acting as mentor to a number of engineering staff you will develop their technical knowledge and understanding, provide support in achieving developmental goals and encourage staff to develop their personal competencies.
You will also play a key role in the technical management and delivery within projects and maintain technical compliance with the contract and resolve technical conflicts where possible.
Skills/Experience Required
To be considered for this role you must have been responsible for a variety of diverse projects ranging in both size and complexity and have a sound appreciation of manufacturing, assembly and test techniques. You should also have a high level of commercial awareness and have sufficient technical knowledge and understanding of the industry to be able to technically lead a team, shape the outcome of a project and encourage and assist others in the delivery of that project. You must hold a degree / HND / or higher apprenticeship in a related discipline and be an experienced user of relevant design tools, techniques and methods. You should also be able to manage your own workload to deliver tasks and prioritise decisions on work.
