Job Description
The focus of this role is to engage business sectors and their representatives to harness partnership for CEC’s work including opportunities for funding collaboration and the adoption of Employer Standards. SBE is co-led by the Head of Strategic Business Partnerships and Head of Grants and Development who take overall responsibility for three underlying objectives of CEC’s work:
1. Delivering business leadership and impact: Overseeing the development of Employer Standards and associated resources to set out clearly and consistently what good looks like in employer engagement with careers education.
2. Leveraging partnership and investment: By offering and co-designing propositions to work with corporate organisations to leverage pipeline opportunities for partnership and funding.
3. Developing the national offer for employer engagement: To create an articulated framework for business to engage efficiently and with purpose, in all CEC-led and partnered employer engagement activity. This includes development of digital products to enable employer engagement and drive impact.
Key responsibilities:
Proactively develop propositions for external partnership and funding opportunities to support careers education.
Work with the Head of Strategic Business Partnerships to maximise relationships with leading business bodies.
Lead engagement with business sector and industry bodies, and on priority sector analysis to create alignment on CEC’s careers education.
Essential criteria:
Background in corporate relationship management/account management – able to build relationships at all levels and sell propositions to organisations.
Experience managing successful relationships with senior stakeholders.
A track record in leveraging funding from corporates and/or other funders.
Proven track record in presenting and holding relationships at the most senior levels of organisations and in driving collaboration to create greater impact.
Proposition development – demonstrable ability to articulate the employer offer.
Significant experience of managing multiple clients/stakeholders and projects to time and budget, managing risk, and maintaining a high-quality service level.
A demonstrable understanding of the current careers’ education and corporate social responsibility landscapes.
