HQ- Cambridge, MA / R&D- CNS / Salaried, full-time / On-site The CNS Team at Arbor Biotechnologies is looking for a Scientist interested in functioning at the cross section of technology and therapeutics. Our team is leveraging the strength of Arbor’s discovery capabilities to advance the challenging field of CNS therapeutics by utilizing patient-derived CNS cell types, humanized mouse models and nonhuman primate. Designing experiments to validate gene-editing technology in animal models to show successful and efficient gene-editing and reversal of disease-relevant phenotypes, when applicable.

Interacting and collaborating with delivery group to optimize the delivery of gene editor into the CNS space.

Interacting and collaborating with analytics group to optimize the biomarkers and analytical assays for monitoring gene-editing outcome in vivo and toward clinical application.

Planning and executing (if applicable) experiments, and processing/analyzing data independently.

Manage CROs, interpret and communicate data across functions, and predict timelines and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Ph.D. in neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or relevant field and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience; may include post-doctoral experience.

Experience in CNS tissue harvesting, processing and downstream cellular/molecular/biochemical analysis.

Experience in animal models of CNS diseases

Experience in AAV-mediated gene delivery in vivo

Knowledge of the biological, genetic and molecular basis of CNS diseases

Attention to details and excellent organizational skills, ensuring good documentation practices are used to maintain record of work being performed.

Highly versatile and team-based mindset

Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills are essential
