St Albans, Hertfordshire
The School Based Autism Team is growing and we are creating a consultant position that will be based out of an identified public school to join our clinical team! This peron will provide direct services, consultation, and other appropriate requests within the assigned public school setting.
Responsibilities include assessment, creation, and implementation of social, emotional, and behavioral interventions for identified students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other NeuroDevelopmental and/or Intellectual Disabilities within their school and community. The School Based Autism Consultant will supervise a caseload of identified students within the school, providing initial and ongoing oversight of all behavior programming, and will work in conjunction with the supervising BCBA to ensure all interventions are within ethical and practice guidelines of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), grounded in the research and literature base, and are modified and updated based on analysis of collected data.
This consultant will be responsible for attending and conducting trainings and meetings as negotiated with school leadership throughout the school year and inservices.
This position requires actively training, guiding and supporting educational and behavioral staff, families, and community based support providers in a variety of settings regarding implementation of behavior intervention plan with the goal of promoting consistency across settings.
In addition to the technical components and knowledge of the theory of ABA, this position is also responsible for promoting and modeling the mission and values of the NCSS community. Our team embraces the philosophy of Lencioni's Team Dysfunctions curriculum and actively works to incorporate this into our daily work practices. The ideal candidate will help to foster the growth of our team through this model.
