What will the apprentice be doing?
The post holder will be required to assist in the provision of an efficient administration service.
Full apprenticeship and role training will be provided for this exciting new position in this fast-moving practice.
Duties of the post:
Efficiently scanning data into the Practice’s clinical computer system.
Uploading electronically received letters/data and entering into the clinical computer system.
Opening and sorting post.
Performing filing of medical records.
Printing medical records.
Performing photocopying.
To provide cover for absence of reception staff as required.
Dealing with patient enquiries.
Dealing with requests for prescriptions.
Conveying messages between doctors, patients, hospitals, other members of the Primary health care team etc.
All messages taken must be concise and dealt with as quickly as possible.
There shall be other additional ad-hoc duties that you will be required to complete upon request.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will complete the following qualifications as part of your Apprenticeship:
Level 3 Business Administrator Standard Apprenticeship.
Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English if not already achieved.
You will also develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work within an office environment.
This apprenticeship is delivered in the workplace and 20% of your working time will be dedicated towards training and learning new skills.
You will be allocated a tutor who will provide you with personal support and assessment at pre-arranged times.
Assessment is through a variety of methods including observations in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions.
All evidence will be logged to your electronic portfolio.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon completion of a 15-month apprenticeship, the role will be reviewed for a permanent position.
