Senior Quantity Surveyor
Construction, Groundworks or Demolition Industry
Leicestershire – LE19
Up to £60k per annum

Our established client specialise in UK-wide projects. They have an opportunity for an experienced QS with Groundworks, Demolition or Construction industry experience to join their growing team. This is commutable from Leicester, Coventry, Tamworth, Hinckley, Derby, Nottingham, Corby, Daventry and Birmingham.
The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have a proven track record of building strong customer relationships, and will have good commercial and contractual knowledge.
The Role of Quantity Surveyor:
– Meeting clients to determine their needs and discuss any areas that need revising for price or feasibility
– Calculating material quantities and costs, labour costs and an achievable project timeframe
– Negotiating labour contracts and schedules
– Managing risk and opportunities
– Advising clients and crew on legal matters and disputes
– Monitoring subcontractors, safety practices, construction progress and material needs, including any changes which may impact costs
– Preparing labour and supplier accounts for payment
– Writing reports detailing costs and progress for clients
Key Skills / Experience Required:
– Track record as a Quantity Surveyor within a sub-contract construction-related industry, such as groundworks or demolition
– Client facing and able to lead communication with the customer
– NEC & JCT contractual awareness
– Good negotiation, project & bid management skills
– Commercial awareness
– Financial numeracy & the ability to undertake financial analysis
– Risk management
– Good presentation & report writing skills
– Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
– Professional communicator
– Proficient at using Microsoft Office as well as industry-specific software
The Package:
– Starting salary and package for this Senior QS role is fully dependent on experience level and any training required
– Up to £60k starting salary available
