As a Principal Technology Service Manager, you’ll bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior service or support role, significant experience of driving breakthrough levels of performance on SLAs and proven experience of working in a fast-paced function and delivering outstanding results. You will be an inspiring leader able to lead multidisciplinary teams who can influence up to and including SLT level, be an outstanding communicator that able to articulate service strategy and issues to gain buy in competently as well as be able to lead and develop large teams.

The fundamental purpose of the Principal Technology Service Manager role is to ensure that the products and solutions delivered by squads across the Technology function are supportable, resilient, and deliverable from a customer and technology service perspective.

As our Principal Technology Service Manager, you will:

  • Work with department and unit leaders, and strategy & architecture team to understand the business strategy and vision to ensure service and support enables this.

  • Lead on the vision and strategic delivery approach for Service and Support across the Technology department. Lead service and support specialists through the design and implementation of this vision to ensure service requirements are met.

  • Lead application managers and engineers in focussing on end users as much as possible, either by resolving root causes as above, enabling users to self-serve the resolution, or moving resolutions closer to where issues are raised.

  • Ensure squad and tribe leaders deliver business outcomes in a way that enables provision outstanding service.

  • Work with your communities of practice to develop practices and processes, working with department and tribe leaders to gain feedback and action areas of focus.

  • Work and communicate effectively with senior colleagues across Nuffield Health, representing Technology and in some cases Nuffield Health on relevant forums.

  • Lead on Technology's embracing of the ITIL framework, embedding this inside the Regional Support teams.

  • Lead on embedding Problem and Incident Management best practice inside Technology Service and Engineering teams.
