P. Terry’s is growing, and we are looking for an Area Manager to oversee the operations of our San Antonio and Austin Burger Stands. Our Area Managers are the Stewards of P. Terry’s who have Operational, Financial and Cultural responsibilities for their area and must have a passion for selecting, training, and developing their team.  

The Area Manager (AM) provides overall leadership and direct supervision of approximately five to eight (5-8) P. Terry’s stands to ensure that each General Manager (GM) is a culture champion, develops their team to meet business needs and provide exceptional guest service while meeting or exceeding the Annual Budget established for each individual stand.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Drives guest-focused culture by serving as a role model in resolving serious guest issues and training managers to meet or exceed guest service standards
  • Tracks, analyzes, and identifies root causes of guest complaints and leads management team to implement systematic solutions
  • Periodically engages in stand audits in conjunction with GMs to calibrate on performance standards and to provide an objective basis for performance feedback
  • Ensures that food safety standards are met in each stand supervised through direct observation as well as follow-up on food safety audit results
  • Reviews SMG results with management teams and coaches’ teams to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Builds strong teams by networking, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring managers and crew members
  • Provides ongoing coaching, feedback and development to all stand-level managers
  • Develops and updates area bench plans; forecasts staffing requirements and builds bench to support the companies growth strategy
  • Ensures stands are selecting and cultivating crew members that meet P. Terry’s culture and operating principles
  • Leads performance management process for all management and hourly employees, ensuring adequate levels of performance feedback, timely performance appraisals, meaningful training and development planning and due process in resolving workplace disputes
  • Offers advice, systems, and support to help the Burger Stands overcome operational obstacles
  • Monitors Sales and Revenue to achieve Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Objectives
  • Ensures the culture is maintained and grown through open communication and execution of Operating Principles
  • Visits Stands to evaluate operations, cleanliness, efficiency, productivity, systems and processes and evaluate performance using key metrics and address issues to improve it
  • Adheres to and developing systems and processes to achieve all objectives
  • Undertakes sound financial management to ensure stores are profitable and stay within budget
  • Acts as a communication liaison to the home office to assist in improving overall execution

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a multi-unit operator Management in a quick-service drive-thru restaurant operations is required
  • Driving is essential for this position so reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license with liability insurance, and a good driving record is required
  • Manager Food Handlers Certification and Texas Food Safety Certification
  • Delivers Excellence in Guest Service
  • Excellent Team Leadership skills
  • Sound understanding of optimization of restaurant operations and standards for success
  • Detailed knowledge of various employment laws, best management practices, and interviewing skills. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to inspire confidence and develop trust.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic orientation
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities 

Bilingual preferred.
