About the team
Harlow College students receive an outstanding level of Learning Support from the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team. Our staff have the specialist skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality, personalised support that effectively meets the needs of learners.
About the role
To provide learning support to students as appropriate, to enable them to fulfil their potential to achieve e.g. clarifying content, making simple notes, differentiating materials, improving their ability to manage their own learning needs.
What we are looking for
You will need to have experience of working with young people with learning difficulties or disabilities and an awareness of diverse learner needs. We welcome applications from candidates who hold a qualification in autism or who have extensive experience of supporting students with autism. Ideally you will be educated to a minimum of Level 3 Maths & English (Minimum Level 2) with good IT skills and have experience of working within an educational environment. It would be advantageous if you hold either a SEN qualification or NVQ3 in supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent). Experience of working with learners with challenging behaviour and mental health concerns would also be an advantage, however training can be provided.
