We are recruiting for a Head of Youth Work, this is an exciting role with a significant amount of autonomy for an ambitious and experienced youth work professional.
The aim of this amazing charity is to help improve the lives of young people in Barnet by giving them somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to? Position: Head of Youth Work
Location: London Borough of Barnet
Salary: £36,000-£41,000 depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week (including evenings & weekends)
Closing Date: noon on Friday 10 March

About the role:
As Head of Youth Work you will work alongside talented youth work colleagues, you will oversee a dynamic, exciting programme that is always evolving to meet the needs of young people. You will make sure it stays within budget, that health and safety is always respected and that appropriate boundaries between staff/volunteers and young people are always adhered to.
You will work in tandem with the Chief Executive, the Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees to help the charity achieve its goal of delivering life-changing youth work to young people in Barnet. The role is also supported by a network of fellow Heads of Youth Work across the charity’s network.
About you:
To be successful in the role of Head of Youth Work you will be driven, hardworking, organised and equally comfortable engaging with young people and staff/volunteers. You will have a sense of fun, plenty of energy but also a calm temperament and the ability to operate at a senior level. You will believe in young people’s potential and be proactive and can-do. You won’t be afraid to get stuck in leading sessions yourself if needed, and you will lead on safeguarding within the organisation.
You will ideally have experience of engaging with external partners (if this includes the local authority/Children’s Services that is a bonus) and be accountable not only to the Chief Executive but also to the Trustee Board. You will be comfortable with monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
