This is the job
Joining the AA as Group Finance Manager, your key focus will be on group financial control of our IFRS 17 figures, and you’ll bring your experience to oversee the technical accounting areas of the group as well as ensuring accuracy of reporting across the AA.
What will I be doing?
Responsible for ensuring Group and relevant subsidiary accounts follow IFRS 17 requirements
Responding to financial accounting queries from across the Group as well as drafting accounting papers for group accounting matters (e.g. debt, pensions) and supporting the business financial controllers and Head of Group Reporting with more technical items.
Responsible for ensuring the designated legal entity and subsidiary statutory accounts reflect the group controls, control frameworks and accounting standards
Responsible for oversight of month end procedures and forecasting of the AA’s IFRS17 consolidation adjustments
Assist with monitoring of balance sheet reconciliations across the group
Responsible for compliance with IFRS & FRS 101 accounting policies and including impact assessments for new accounting standards
What do I need?
Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
Extensive working knowledge of IFRS17accounting standard
Experience gained in an accountancy practice environment with proven knowledge of all aspects of financial control
Very strong technical accounting knowledge
Education and Qualifications:
Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent)
