Globally recognised logistics business are seeking an experienced UK Finance Manager to join their successful finance function.

This role is to ensure that the accounts are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and to Group accounting standards as part of the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing processes

Main responsibilities include

  • Report on monthly overheads
  • Review monthly P&L and intercompany balances for consolidation
  • Review monthly Bad Debt journal
  • Monthly commentary for the Area’s overheads
  • Quarterly overhead forecast
  • Review quarterly Trial Balance and intercompany balances for consolidation
  • Annual overhead budget
  • Annual 5-year capital and lease expenditure budget
  • Review and authorise manual payments from the local bank account
  • Review weekly report for payment of suppliers’ invoices
  • Calculate monthly Corporation tax forecast and ensure quarterly payments are made on time.
  • Monthly reclassification of creditors and debtors balance
  • Post monthly releases to the P&L for government grant and for lease incentives
  • Review monthly VAT returns and liaise with HMRC in case of VAT inspections
  • Quarterly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Review quarterly and annual Office of National Statistics reports
  • Annual Corporation Tax return
  • Annual Statutory Accounts

You will be able to demonstrate

  • You are a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant
  • Experience with SAP
  • Ability to handle multi-task requirements, set priorities, plan and organise work
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and good interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to deliver at high standard under pressure and meet pressing statutory and Group dead-lines
