An exciting opportunity for the cheese ingredient enthusiast!  Our client, a leader in the Cheese and Cheese Ingredient Industry, is searching for a Director of Sales-Foodservice & Retail, Cheese & Ingredients.  The role is responsible for growing sales volumes and profitability in the Foodservice segment with a specific focus on National Restaurant Chains.  The role focuses on the Foodservice segment while managing, maintaining, and growing sales of customized cheese technologies to a select number of “partner and growth” company accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow sales of customized cheese technologies
  • Identify and pursue-prospective accounts that align with strategy and meet volume and value criteria
  • Establish sales/R&D-driven projects at new National Chain targets in an attempt to grow sales volumes
  • Write up effective customer project briefs and collaborate with R&D
  • Facilitate the movement of samples, product specifications, and other necessary resources to the customer level in a responsive, timely fashion
  • Support company go-to-market strategy of speed, quality, and innovation
  • Organize top-to-top meetings between Partner/Growth accounts & prospects and company management team members to drive a broader account management strategy
  • Execute price increases, as needed, and support SKU rationalization when necessary
  • Execute company foodservice go-to-market strategy to drive volume and margin growth in sustainable foodservice market
  • Ensure internal reporting and communications are timely, accurate, and informative
  • Serve as a role model for the company values and be an ambassador for the company brand

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or related field
  • 10+ years’ experience as a successful direct sales person selling food and cheese/dairy products as an ingredient required
  • Proven sales experience with food manufacturers and food service distributors a must
  • Retail experience helpful
  • Extensive contacts with R&D, Purchasing and Marketing personnel at National Restaurant Chains, Domestic Food Distributors and Food Manufacturers
  • Ability to travel 2+ weeks per month
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills-written and physical
