What you’ll be doing

You will be working closely with the Chief Officer, deputising as required, to champion the role of the VCSE sector in Bury and identifying opportunities for collaboration across a range of strategic partnerships, boards and working groups. Bury VCFA currently has representation across the Integrated Care Partnership and systems including Team Bury (delivery partners for the Let’s Do It strategy), Health and Wellbeing Board, Children’s Strategic Partnership and Community Safety Partnership.

You’ll be connecting across all functions of our team including communications, influence and engagement. You will be advocating for the VCSE sector as a key partner in the co-design and delivery of services, in particular those services which improve health and wellbeing outcomes for local people and communities.

You will work collaboratively to ensure decision-makers hear the views of communities who experience the greatest inequalities and bring the expertise of the VCSE sector and the communities they work with into local policy making.

Who we’re looking for

  • This is an ideal opportunity for someone that is passionate about the VCSE sector; who understands the vital role the sector plays in influencing service delivery, shaping local policy, strategic direction and sharing good practice. 
  • You’ll be providing leadership and senior representation on behalf of Bury VCFA and the wider VCSE sector in Bury.
  • You’ll develop new and maintain existing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from across the public and private sectors including local authority and health partners in Bury.
  • You’ll work creatively to turn ideas into projects which build on the strengths and expertise of the VCSE sector and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for people and communities in Bury.
  • To be successful you will need experience of representing an organisation or partnership at a strategic/senior level and will have excellent knowledge and understanding of project and organisational management.
