Ashberry Recruitment are always recruiting for agency Social Workers, Senior Social Workers, Practice and Team Managers along with Support Workers for Social Work Teams/Services across the Northwest of England.

This requirement is for an Agency Social Worker to join our client St. Helen’s Council within their Children Services.

 

What our client says:

The structure within St Helens Council Children Services is such that the Duty Service completes all assessments and identifies the plan for the child and family.

We then receive children who have already been assessed by the Duty Teams, and are deemed to be in need of a Child in Need Plan, Child Protection Plan or Children we Look After Plan for longer term support and management of the plan.

Private Proceedings and Public Care proceedings are located predominantly within the SW Assessment Service and the majority of all children subject to Child Protection Plans.

This post is for an experienced Social Worker re Court and Protection.

The vacancy relates to stepping down a managed team.

The two members of staff have been part of the managed team and have indicated that they will remain in St Helens

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work and will be registered with Social Work England as a qualified Social Worker.
  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work along with business insurance.
  • Have an enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.
  • Can work within and contribute to a team.
  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.
  • Have confident IT skills and be able to navigate an electronic file system.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust reports.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises.
  • Contracts are full-time, but part time and flexible working hours may be considered. Contracts are normally offered over a 3-month period before rolling on for another 3 more months at a time.
