The role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new revenue opportunities to expand the current client base within the US.  In addition, the Account Executive will leverage existing clients as well as relationships with business partners to identify new revenue opportunities to achieve annual sales goal. Qualified candidates will use their knowledge of leading GIS technologies to grow the business, hit revenue targets and provide existing and potential clients with guidance on technology trends and solutions.


  • Be a hunter! Aggressively prospect into new accounts for local government and commercial organizations
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities within current key accounts
  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Define and effectively deliver the value proposition for location technologies to clients
  • Respond to solicitations and produce proposals in coordination with the Bid & Proposal team
  • Oversee the generation of estimates in coordination with Operations
  • Track and report on the sales pipeline
  • Provide internal and external thought-leadership with GIS technologies
  • Establish oneself as a recognized expert in location technologies through regular blogging, tweeting, and participation in related industry forums and conferences
  • Report to the VP Strategy & Business Development for the Enterprise Infrastructure & Security Business Unit


  • Capable of presenting new technologies and ideas to decision makers
  • Consultative in nature! Possess the ability to understand and solve the client’s business problem(s)
  • Advanced knowledge of the application of GIS technologies
  • Knowledge of the sales pipeline and CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to engage clients, track and qualify leads, and close sales
  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively with a wide range of people
  • Self-motivated, driven and pro-active
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, IT/GIS, Geography or related field. Additional experience can be substituted for education
  • Experience with GIS technologies, preferably the Esri technology stack
  • Experience in business development for professional services
  • Understanding of State & Local governments’ business needs


  • Successful track record of meeting and/or exceeding sales quotas within an organization that sells technical services
  • Demonstrated relationships with decision makers in State & Local Government


  • US Citizenship required
